Our Ethos – Accountability

The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) did a study on accountability and found that you have a 65% probability of completing a goal if you commit to someone; and if you have a specific accountability appointment with a person you’ve committed to, you will increase your chance of success by up to 95%.
Based on the above study, Accountability is the cornerstone of everything we do at 5 Alive and is embedded in everything we aim to achieve.

Tom is an entrepreneur with multiple business interests in various sectors working on projects on both a National and International scale; having networked in the past he had built solid relationships with other business owners but had frustrations and poor experiences and struggled to understand why some networkers attended events and meetings and proceeded to only take from the group and not give back. In one previous group he was involved in he came up with a way to help a struggling member by choosing 5 of the members top specific ideal referrals and worked to help them secure an introduction, thus creating the 5 Alive Concept! Tom approached Steve Jones to share his idea and 5 Alive Networking was born soon after.

Steve is a local business owner and customer facing professional, with an eye for detail and excellent communication skills he is an expert in his respective fields. He is respected locally and values the connections he makes from the various business networking groups he and his business are members of. Steve is an excellent networker who truly understands the meaning of networking and is passionate about helping and advocating for trusted business connections. After hearing Tom’s concept and ethos Steve immediately saw value in the idea and joined Tom to turn his concept into reality. He designed the 5 Alive Networking logo and started spreading the word amongst his network.

Boardroom – Monthly Networking

Our typical agenda includes open networking, individual member rundowns, breakfast and small breakout working groups. We also invite guest speakers to address specific topics that the group are facing in their businesses to try and help them overcome their challenges.

We limit groups to only 12-members with a maximum of 3-visitors therefore each meeting is restricted to 15-people.

We create a safe confidential space free of bias, judgement, conflict or criticism. Each person has a 5-minute slot dedicated to them and their business to share their:

CURRENT PROJECTS, CURRENT CHALLENGES, RECENT SUCCESSES, ASK FOR ANY HELP REQUIRED, BEST BUDDY PRACTICES*

This allows members to take a 360-degree approach to not only their business development but to their business as a whole, share best practice and compare & benchmark themselves against other similar sized businesses. Creating strong relationships and an environment for peer learning for people to thrive.

*Best Buddy Practice is where group members share their successful approaches with others to assist them in their goals.

Industry Specific – Monthly Networking

Regional Property Meets is a collaboration project between 5 Alive Networking and local property entrepreneurs designed for property-specific professionals and their wider supply chain to meet and network in a comfortable environment.

Each meeting compromises of open networking between 50+ property professionals, an industry-leading keynote speaker, a charity raffle and food and drink for all attendees provided by one of our sponsors.
